At Child Toy Store, we understand that as discerning collectors, you expect your vintage and limited-edition items to arrive in perfect condition. Should any item fail to meet our exacting standards, please review our collector-focused returns policy below.

Note for Collectors: Due to the exclusive nature of many items in our Vintage Collection, McFarlane DC Universe, and Hot Toys/Sideshow 1/6th Scale lines, some products may have special return conditions or be final sale. These exceptions are noted at product pages.

Eligibility for Returns & Exchanges

We accept returns and exchanges within 15 days of delivery for most items, provided they are:

  • In original, unopened packaging with all seals intact
  • Accompanied by the original receipt or order confirmation
  • In the same condition as when shipped (no shelf wear or display damage)

Non-Returnable Items

The following collector’s items cannot be returned due to their exclusive nature:

  • Pre-ordered items marked as “Final Sale”
  • Limited edition or numbered collectibles from our Vintage Collection
  • Opened action figures (due to potential part substitution)
  • Special convention exclusives (as noted at purchase)

The Collector’s Return Process

Step 1: Initiate Your Return

Email our Collector Support team at [email protected] within 15 days of receiving your item with:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the item showing any damage or defects
  • Reason for return
  • Whether you prefer an exchange or refund

Step 2: Receive Return Authorization

Within 2 business days, we’ll email you a:

  • Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number
  • Prepaid shipping label (for damaged/defective items)
  • Instructions for repackaging collectible items securely

Step 3: Ship Your Return

For standard returns (non-defective items):

  • Package the item in its original protective packaging
  • Include all certificates of authenticity, if applicable
  • Ship to our UK facility via tracked mail (address below)

Refund Processing for Collectors

Timeline

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • Refunds: Processed within 5 business days to your original payment method
  • Exchanges: New item shipped within 3 business days after return approval

Refund Methods

Refunds will be issued via:

  • Original credit card (Visa/MasterCard/JCB) – 3-5 business days to appear
  • PayPal – typically processed within 24 hours
Collector’s Note: Original shipping fees are non-refundable except in cases of our error. For international returns outside the UK, customs fees/duties are the responsibility of the collector.

Damaged or Defective Collectibles

For items arriving damaged (a collector’s worst nightmare!):

  1. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos
  2. We’ll arrange a prepaid return label via DHL/FedEx
  3. Receive priority processing for replacement or refund

For rare items where replacement isn’t possible, we’ll work with you to find a satisfactory solution, which may include partial refunds or store credit for future releases.
